The Lord Has Done Great Things for Us
In today’s Old Testament Reading, Samuel gives his farewell speech at the coronation of Saul as king of Israel. In his speech, while he helps Israel to recognize its sin of idolatry, he also encourages faithfulness to the Lord as they remember the Lord’s promises to deliver His people both in the past and in the future. As recipients of the Lord’s gracious salvation, we do not forget what God has done. God remains faithful to His promises, especially His promise of forgiveness.
